About Me

Born of a Mississippi heatwave, I set off for cooler lands as soon as I got that driver’s permit—ahem, 15, in a certain state. I’ve been a perpetual explorer ever since, bouncing from coast to coast and continent to continent. Columbia University’s arts & culture journalism program brought me to New York, where I kept busy being a writer (a righter!) and cultivating my great appreciation for people who make things and the things that they make. Recently my curiosity led me to Pakistan, to the UAE and finally, back home to the syrupy south. Who needs those cooler lands when you can go swimming in October?
